Learn more about the team at Downey Veterinary Hospital!

Dr. Raymond graduated from the University of the Philippines, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Upon graduation, he taught at the University for a few years. He also practiced equine medicine in the local racetracks and breeding farms for thoroughbred racehorses and at the Manila Polo Club. He was the official veterinarian of the Philippines Showjumping Team, which won a gold medal at the 2002 Southeast Asian Games in Busan, Korea. In 2009, he started his own small animal practice in Tiendesitas, Pasig, Philippines.

Dr. Raymond and his family then immigrated to the US in 2010 and practiced in a small animal hospital in La Puente for 8 years. In January 2021, he and his wife, Pinky, acquired ownership of Downey Veterinary Hospital. Their goal is to make Downey Veterinary Hospital a place where the local people can go and feel welcomed and secure in the knowledge that their pets are receiving quality care. He hopes to expand into a multi-doctor practice when his daughter graduates from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2024.

Dr. Raymond currently has 2 dogs, 2 cats, 5 snakes, and 6 tortoises to keep him busy aside from the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of being a veterinarian and practice owner.
