Four months down and who knows how many more to go. It's been four months since COVID-19 has made a household name for itself, and we're still not sure when things will go back to "normal". Since the start of the pandemic, your Downey Veterinary team has been making adjustments and will continue to so that we can provide the best health care to your furry family members. Until we know that we can safely return to business as usual, we'll continue to wear masks, social distance, wash our hands, and stay home if we don't feel well. We'll continue with "curbside" service and contactless payment. The additional phone line and 2-way text messaging have helped us to communicate with you quicker. And, with the addition of Drop-Off appointments, we can care for more pets as well as avoid having you wait in the car. While we are sorry that we aren't offering to board and bathing is limited, this has allowed us more time to schedule appointments.
Currently, we are working on the ability to video chat. This is available through the PetDesk app. If you haven't already, download the PetDesk app to your smart phone or device (click here to download the free app). Not only will you have access to your pet's information, but you'll also earn Pet Perks, and now have the ability to Video Chat. With the addition of this feature, our team will be able to communicate with you since the lobby will remain closed.
So while we continue to navigate through new territory, we thank you for continuing to confirm your appointment when the reminders are sent, checking-in at least 15 minutes beforehand, and for the smiles behind your mask. We are so grateful for all of you and the kindness and trust that you have extended to us. If you can't tell, we've got even bigger smiles behind our masks. Stay safe and healthy.
